DeJaVu Herbalife 1985

The more I read, the more I see and am reminded about “wolves in sheeps clothing”.  And then today, as I’m reading the latest Press Release/Statement to these latest charges and then reading the follow up by this Barry Minkow guy, it’s painfully obvious how this Minkow guy is turning the words around.

And as I’m reading Barry Minkow’s latest, I’m thinking “Why is this guy doing this?’  I’m also thinking about Herbalife in 1985 and how Mark Hughes and only a few hundred distributors knew the charges were only an obsticle, something someone put up to try to take the company down (for what ever reason).  For what ever reason I’m having a hard time putting into words what I want to say but what I’m trying to say is that this is the wave, the one of many waves, every company goes through and THIS is the wave that either makes or breaks the distributors and/or the company.

If you read up on this guy, unfortunately, there have been a few good and not so good companies he’s gone after the same as he’s going after Herbalife right now.  I say unfortunately because some good companies didn’t fair so well maybe because those who were only IN the company didn’t fair so well either?  It’s okay though.  The last wave we went through when we lost Mark Hughes was tough, and unfortunately we lost some people we thought had Herbalife IN them but what we gained from the experience was so much more than what we lost, we know now why they say this industry will “train you to become a millionaire”.

There are some who are IN Herbalife, and then there are some who have Herbalife IN them.  This kind of wave is when YOU will know where you and others stand.  I’ve been through a few of these in one form or another since I started in 1995 and although they hurt a few times and I didn’t understand a few times, knowing now that THIS is actually not a bad thing and is part of the process, it does help to make it through.  Why?

Because in the end, it just all works out and when the market sees that Herbalife is a top notch company that can stand up to anything anyone throws at it, others will see that we ARE the company and product of choice.

Oh, by the way, I read this about this guy today which answered my question for me “why is he doing this?”

May 23   NEW YORK (Reuters) -
Barry Minkow, founder of the institute, has $50,000 invested in Herbalife “put” options, betting that the company’s shares will fall.

Minkow, a San Diego pastor who served more than seven years in jail for stock fraud, now works to uncover fraud through the institute. He has a history of criticizing Los Angeles-based Herbalife.

Minkow said in a telephone interview that his bet that the company’s shares will fall was only intended to finance his investigation.

What do you think his motive is?  Beware of wolves in sheeps clothing, yea.

Indy 500This up-coming weekend May 24 - 25, 2008 is the 92nd running of the “The Greatest Spectacle in Racing” the Indianapolis 500 , and Herbalife will be right in the middle of the action with our new sponsorship of Townsend Bell and the #99 William Rast Race Team. Townsend, a devout user of Herbalife products, qualified in the 12 th position and has been running some of the fastest practice times all week.

In addition to our normal car placements on Townsend’s helmet and upper quarter panel (see attached Indy 500photos), we have secured some additional logo placements for exposure on Townsend’s in-car camera. Throughout the broadcast, we should get to see a number of shots of the Herbalife logo.

This years Indy 500 will be one of the biggest worldwide racing events of the year. Nearly 300,000 people will watch the race live from Indianapolis Speedway and the broadcast will reach more than 60 countries around the globe.

LOS ANGELES–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Jan. 22, 2008–The American Youth Soccer Organization and Herbalife Ltd. (NYSE:HLF), a global nutrition and direct selling company, announced a first-ever four-year agreement that makes Herbalife the Official Nutrition Advisor and Official Health and Wellness Provider of the country’s leading youth soccer organization.Similar to Herbalife’s agreement with the Los Angeles Galaxy Major League Soccer club, the AYSO sponsorship gives Herbalife the rights to display its name and logo on the front of AYSO jerseys, a first for the non-profit national organization. The agreement also includes Herbalife’s presence on the AYSO Web site, signage at games, an on-site presence at national and sectional events, and a nutrition column in Play Soccer, AYSO’s online publication.
